INFLATION worked out by the government at eight per cent is a hoax as prices ruling in Karachi are at least higher by 25 per cent compared to January 2012.

Eggs are being sold at Rs120 a dozen, kinos Rs130 a dozen, mutton Rs600 a kilo, chicken Rs140 a kilo, all vegetables are Rs60 to Rs70 a kilo, fresh milk Rs75 and yogurt Rs100 a kilo, while petrol costs Rs101 a litre.

The above prices in Karachi are 50 per cent higher than those in Dhaka and Bombay which I have checked with my friends there.
