GUJRANWALA, Jan 15: Heirs and residents of Muafiwala village on Wednesday blocked the Sialkot Bypass Road to protest the killing of two brothers and injuring their father on Tuesday.

The protesters also burnt used tyres and placed the bodies on the road.

They alleged that two policemen of Sialkot were among the killers whose official caps were found on the place of incident. They dispersed peacefully when DPO Saud Aziz reached the spot and assured the protesters that the accused would be arrested within 24 hours.

Ghulam Mustafa had a dispute with deceased Muhammad Asgher over a piece of land. They also quarrelled with each other a few days ago, but the area people reconciled the matter. On Tuesday, Asgher, his brother Ashraf and father Muhammad Hussain were present in their house when assailants came there and opened fire on them. Asgher died instantly while Ashraf and their father sustained serious bullet injuries. They were rushed to the local DHQ Hospital where Ashraf died.

Meanwhile, Aroop police claim to have arrested constable Muhammad Javed involved in the killing of two brothers and injuring their father.

The constable, posted in Sialkot, was a close associate of the main accused, Ghulam Mustafa. His another accomplice is still at large.

Police are interrogating the arrested constable.
