HYDERABAD, Jan 15: Hundreds of students of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, on Wednesday staged a rally to press for the acceptance of their demands.

The leaders of the student threatened to widen the scope of their protest if the problems faced by students were not resolved by Jan 21.

DENIAL: The muet authorities have denied reports published in a section of the press that thousands of the university students staged a sit-in on Jan 13, saying about 200 students were forcibly brought to join the procession and stage a sit-in in front of the administration building.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the university registrar said Jeay Sindh Students Federation president Asif Memon and Sindh People’s Students Federation-SB’s Shoaib Domki stopped student point buses and forced the students to join the protest.
