PARACHINAR/KOHAT, Jan 5: One person was killed and four others were injured in a roadside explosion in Bagun area of lower Kurram Agency on Saturday, sources said.

They said that local people were going from Bagun to a nearby mountain for cutting firewood when their vehicle was hit by a landmine, planted by unidentified persons along the roadside.

As a result, one person was killed and four others including the driver of the vehicle sustained injuries, they added. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, they said.

The residents of the area demanded of the administration to take notice of growing incidents of terrorism, particularly sabotage acts on the main roads, in the tribal region.

In Kohat, two constables of Elite Force were believed to have been kidnapped from Tanda Dam area by unidentified militants.

Police sources said that constables Kamran and Javed were missing and it was believed that they were kidnapped by militants. The motorcycle of Kamran was found abandoned near Tanda Dam, officials at Saddar police station said.

They said that both the constables had gone to Tanda Dam for fishing but they did not return to report to the police station.—Dawn Report
