ISLAMABAD, Jan 14: Four more politicians including Asfandyar Wali have approached the Supreme Court to get a provisional permission for contesting the Senate elections.
The apex court last week has allowed two other persons, who were also defeated in the Oct 10 polls, to vie for the Senate seats.
Javed Jabbar and Ayub Khattak were allowed on Jan 9, to file their nominations, which would not be rejected on the grounds that they were defeated in the general elections. This permission is provisional and subject to the court’s final decision on their petitions.
The new petitioners are: Chaudhry Ghafoor, Rana Tanvir Hussain, Malik Umar Aslam and Asfandyar Yar Wali.—Staff Reporter
