SIALKOT, Jan 5: Two citizens died of severe cold weather in the district on Sunday.

An unidentified addict died near Lorry Adda in Sambrial and Bashir Ahmad in Pasrur city.

The entire region remained in the grip of the harsh weather, as the mercury level dropped to four degrees. All business, civic and social activities also remained paralysed.

Citizens preferred to stay indoors and enjoyed the weather despite having no electricity and gas.

Several cattle and birds were also found dead due to the cold weather along the banks of the Chenab.

According to the Met Office, the foggy weather will persist for another couple of days.
