It is pertinent to mention that the Land Award was announced in 1968 and the built-up property award was announced in 1975. Approximately 94 percent residents of sector I-11 have been compensated.

The allotment of plots in the sector was started much later in 1990. A total of 2497 plots of small size were allotted to the original landowners, CDA employees and the general public. Some plots have seen been sold and the new owners are awaiting possession.

In June 2009, another package deal was announced because residents of Sorain village in sector I-11 refused to vacate their land. Under this deal 1200 plots were allotted in sector I-12 to these villagers.
