KARACHI, Jan 14: The chairman CBR, Riaz Ahmed Malik on Tuesday agreed to waive the condition of furnishing records of inventory in actual for filing sales tax refund claims. However, inventory records will have to be essentially filed at the end of the year.

This was transpired in a meeting between business leaders belonging to Karachi and the chairman, CBR, Riaz Ahmed Malik who was assisted by member sales tax Muhammad Ramazan Bhatti.

The chairman also assured the delegation that there would be no delays in the processing of claims on the pretext of inventory records of goods in process and minor differences would be accepted. Earlier, SRO 575, also came under exhaustive discussions.

The section 73 of the Sales Tax Act was also discussed and Riaz Ahmed Malik assured to allow extension in payment period. The chairman said that since this does not affect the revenue collection, therefore, he would give sympathetic consideration to the demand.

The CBR chief informed the delegation that in order to check fake claims a list of flying invoices as well as of other taxpayers will be displayed on the CBR’s website.
