Kareena Kapoor was the original choice for a film being co-produced by Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor opposite Emraan Hashmi.

TOI had even carried an announcement to this effect. She backed out perhaps to accommodate Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Ram Leela'. And Deepika Padukone stepped in.

However, in the film industry an actor proposes and a filmmaker disposes and many times it is vice-versa. Bhansali settled for Deepika as his Leela. Now we hear from reliable sources that KJo and Ekta have decided to get Kareena back into their project, leaving Deepika out.
