RAWALPINDI, Jan 1: A woman was shot dead in Kahuta apparently due to old enmity while another man was murdered in Banni police area on Tuesday, police said.

In the first incident, the husband of the deceased in his complaint said that he along with his wife woke up in the morning to offer Fajr prayer.

He said he observed some movement of people in his courtyard.

He said as he came out, he saw his rivals standing there. He said one of them opened fire on his wife injuring her critically.

Later the attackers escaped from the scene.

He said he shifted his wife to hospital where she died of injuries.

Meanwhile, a man who is said to be in his 60s was shot dead by unidentified person in the limit of Banni police area on Tuesday.

Police said the man belonged to Jhang had had been in Rawalpindi for the last few months and used to sleep outside a shop at night. Sometime during last night, he was shot and killed by unidentified person.

Police said it was yet to be investigated whether it was a robbery attempt.
