TOBA TEK SINGH, Dec 25: Police on Tuesday during a raid in Chishtian, Bahawalnagar, arrested two proclaimed offenders wanted for the last six years for murder and kidnap cases.

According to Sadar police, brothers Nisar and Mushtaq of Chak 289-JB had in February 2007 attacked their brother-in-law, Muhammad Saeed, in his house as their sister, Razia Bibi, had contracted a love marriage with him.

Due to their firing, Saeed was injured and his brother Nawaz and sister Nasira had died, while Razia remained unhurt.

Both the accused had managed to escape and were declared proclaimed offenders.

In 2011, they gunned down a fellow villager, Ghulam Nabi, for taking up the murder case against them. The same year, Nisar kidnapped a girl from Pirmahal and was again declared a PO by the Pirmahal police.

GANG RAPE: A woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men in Kamalia.

The woman, whose husband works in Faisalabad, told Kamalia city police she was returning from a market in Jinnah Colony when Abdul Rashid and an unidentified accomplice kidnapped her at gunpoint and took her to an undisclosed location where their third accomplice was already present.

She alleged the three men raped her and later threw her near a graveyard.

A Kamalia police official said a case had not been registered so far as the police were investigating the complaint.
