GUJRANWALA, Oct 9: Another postmaster and three clerks were suspended from service by postal authorities on Tuesday for selling fake and used stamps.

The GPO divisional superintendent paid a surprise visit to Alipur Chattha post office and seized many fake and used stamps from the possession of postmaster Muzaffar Awan and clerks Wakil, Yasin and Amjad. He suspended them from service instantly and issued them a show-cause notice.

Their cases have been transferred to FIA for investigation.

The divisional superintendent also visited various other post offices in and around the city and scrutinized the stamps sale record. He found many irregularities and issued show-cause notices to the guilty.

A joint raiding team of army and Lahore postal senior officers had seized fake and used stamps from Climaxabad and Naushera Road post office branches and suspended from service their postmasters, Manzoor Husain Shah and Muhammad Ishaq.
