ATTOCK, Dec 23: The district police officer (DPO), Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has sacked a constable and suspended an SI.

SHO Jand police station SI Riaz Ahmed was suspended on the charge of falsely implicating a citizen while on duty at Hattian police post.

The DPO also served a show-cause notice on the susSI and asked him to report to district police lines.

A resident of Hazro, Mohammad Mumtaz, had filed a complaint before the regional police officer (RPO), claiming that his son, Shehzad, was arrested by  SI Riaz Ahmed in a fabricated case and kept in illegal detention.

RPO Mohammad Zubair Khan initiated an inquiry which found the SI guilty.

The DPO also sacked Constable Abdul Malick on charges of corruption and issued a warning to Inspector Ehsan Elahi of Attock Saddar, Inspector Ghulam Shabbir of New Airport, and SI Mohammad Azam of Rangu police station for their unsatisfactory performance.—Correspondent
