LAHORE, Dec 23: Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Abdul Ghani Bhat called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday and discussed the Kashmir issue, elimination of terrorism and other matters of mutual interest.

Shahbaz said the PML-N was clear the Kashmir issue should be resolved according to the aspirations of Kashmiri people, and his party would continue supporting the Kashmiris politically and morally.

He said other issues between Pakistan and India could be resolved through a meaningful and practicable dialogue as war was not a solution. He said the two countries would have to jointly find solutions to all mutual problems and move ahead on the path to peace.

The CM asserted resolution of the Kashmir and other issues would bring about development and prosperity in the region and utilisation of resources on education, health and other social sectors would help improve living standards of the masses.

He said there was no doubt Pakistan had been adversely affected in the war against terrorism and had also rendered numerous sacrifices.

Shahbaz said extremists were hatching conspiracies to create anarchy in the country and their evil designs would have to be foiled with unity.

He said he was shocked over the martyrdom of senior Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister and ANP leader Bashir Bilour whose services for democracy and eliminating extremism would be remembered forever. He said Bilour was a brave politician and always fought against terrorism.

Bhat said Bilour’s martyrdom was a very tragic incident. He said PML-N’s efforts for resolution of the Kashmir issue were commendable and the Hurriyat was thankful to the PML-N leadership for continuing its support for the Kashmiri people.
