HYDERABAD, Dec 22: District and Sessions Judge Hasan Feroz, who is also director of the Human Rights Board, on Saturday paid a visit to parts of Qasimabad taluka to verify complaints regarding civic facilities which are either non-existent or in dilapidated condition.

The visit was the first of its kind by any sessions judge of Hyderabad in the recent past.

The judge was appalled at such conditions in the midst of Hyderabad city when he took up applications filed by Fareeha Shah, Noor Ahmed Pirzada and Seema advocates, Prof Liaquat Aziz, Yar Mohammad, Mehboob Ali Abro and Haji Shafi Almani.

Each applicant has discussed specific issues of his/her area in their pleas that have been unresolved for quite some time.

The judge had called officials of the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa), Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA), Town Municipal Administration (TMA), Public Health Engineering and other departments to identify the actual problem. They were also present.

He spent over five hours visiting Qasimabad phase-I, II, Hadi Nagar, Naseem Nagar phase-I, Honda showroom locality, Citizen Colony and North Extension of Qasimabad.

The applicants were also present during the long visit.

The judge has fixed these applications now for Jan 11 when he would pass directives to the departments concerned with specific solution to each problem. In one case, the judge suggested theodolite survey.
