LAHORE, Dec 20: A fine display of spin bowling in tandem by Zulfiqar Babar and Adnan Rasool was backed up by a Kamran Akmal half-century as Pakistan Blues cantered to a facile five-wicket victory over Pakistan Greens in the lone T20 practice match during the training camp for the India-bound national team at the Gaddafi Stadium here on Thursday.

Kamran hit a 33-ball 50 and was backed by Imran Farhat (24) as Blues reached the winning target of 136 for the loss of five wickets with eight balls to spare despite the Greens having Pakistan’s ace off-spinner Saeed Ajmal and Shahid Afridi in their ranks. Shoaib Malik produced the best bowling figures for the Grens with 2-16 while Asad Ali and Sohail Tanvir bagged a wicket each.

Earlier, Zulfiqar and Adnan took three wickets each to restrict the Greens to 135-9 after fast bowler umar Gul and Junaid Khan had ripped through their top-order that included Nasir Jamshed, Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Hafeez. Middle-order resistance from Umar Akmal (33) and Afridi (28) helped them to a respectable total.

Pakistan leave for India on Dec 22 where they will play two T20 and three One-day International matches.

Summarised scores: Pakistan Blues beat Pakistan Greens by five wickets.

PAKISTAN GREENS 135-9 in 20 overs (Umar Akmal 33, Shahid Afridi 28, Shoaib Malik 14, Saeed Ajmal 14; Adnan Rasool 3-22, Zulfiqar Babar 3-26, Umar Gul 2-24, Junaid Khan 1-23); PAKISTAN BLUES 139-5 in 18.4 overs (Kamran Akmal 50, Imran Farhat 24, Umar Amin 18, Azhar Ali 17; Shoaib Malik 2-16, Asad Ali 1-17, Sohail Tanvir 1-30).
