QUETTA: The Balochistan government has decided to continue the anti-polio drive in Quetta, Pishin and Qila Abdullah districts.

A spokesperson for the Balochistan government said on Tuesday night that the anti-polio campaign would continue in the districts of Balochistan and that deputy commissioners had been ordered to provide security to teams assigned to administer anti-polio drops to children.

“Any untoward incident in any part of the country cannot affect the anti-polio drive in Balochistan as the provincial government has pledged to make the campaign successful and complete the target,” said the spokesperson.

The provincial government further said the home secretary had directed commissioners of all divisions to try to reassure polio coordinators in their areas that measures had been taken for their safety.
