KARACHI: MQM leader Dr. Farooq Sattar announced on Sunday that all of his party leaders and the people of Karachi will appear before the court on January 7, for hearing of contempt of court notice issued against party chief Altaf Hussain.

Addressing a rally in support of Altaf Hussain outside the Karachi Press Club, Dr. Farooq Sattar said a census should be conducted prior to the new delimitation of constituencies in Karachi.

He said that if the census was conducted prior to delimitation of constituencies his party would cooperate in the process.

"Verifying the voters list is also a responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan and it is a must to hold census before new electoral delimitation in Karachi," he said.

"A census will provide people their rights,"  Sattar added.

He vowed on the occasion that the MQM is ready to render every sacrifice for the integrity of Pakistan.
