NOWSHERA/KOHAT, Dec 11: The anti-corruption department on Tuesday arrested two revenue officials and an employee of the accounts department for committing wrongdoings.

Officials said that two revenue officials, patwari Shabeer Ahmad and girdawar Noor Rehman, with the connivance of another person Khalil Satti had fraudulently sold a piece of land owned by Sati’s sister Jameela Sati, wife of Shahbaz Bhatti in Nowshera.

Jameela Satti had filed a complaint against her brother Khalil Satti in the anti-corruption department.

During investigation, the two officials were found involved in the land transfer case. The district collector Nowshera immediately suspended the two officials, the officials added.

Meanwhile, the anti-corruption department Kohat arrested an employee of the accounts department while receiving bribes from a teacher.

The department was approached by a teacher of government primary school Azadi Mela in the Frontier Region of Kohat.

On the orders of the director of anti-corruption department Syed Faizan Ali Shah, Kohat DSP Mustafa Gul, who is also the regional head, raided the accounts office along with local magistrate and arrested office assistant Abdul Lateef while receiving Rs5,000 as bribe.

The anti-corruption department registered a case against the accused and sent him to lockup. —Dawn Report
