PESHAWAR, Jan 10: The city police have arrested 103 proclaimed offenders allegedly wanted in heinous crimes and 400 others on the charges of committing minor offences, during the last one week.

The police launched an operation against the outlaws in the city and its suburban areas and arrested 103 POs wanted in murder, attempt to murder, robbery and kidnapping cases and 400 were held on charges of being involved in petty offences, said a press release issued here on Friday.

The police arrested 16 POs from Badhber, six from Matani, 12 from Chamkani, 21 from Ormar, seven from Daudzai and 14 from Mathra localities.

Over 125 outlaws were arrested for possessing unlicensed arms and the police recovered 19 Kalashnikovs, 7 Kalakovs, 19 rifles, 18 shotguns, 67 pistols, two hand-grenades and 1,200 cartridges of different calibre.

During the operation, 130 drug traffickers were also arrested.
