KARACHI, Jan 10: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has called not only for the continuity of steps taken for the improvement of education benefitting from the information technology, but also for gearing up efforts in this regard.

He was speaking to a delegation, led by Shaikh Mohammed Farooq, vice-chairman of the Dr A.Q. Khan Institute of High Technology, which met him at the Governor House.

Provincial Minister Rauf Siddiqi, Syed Khalil Naqvi and others were also present on the occasion.

Shaikh Farooq apprised the governor of the institute and the services being rendered by the Chiniot community in health and education sectors.

Dr Ibad observed that desired goals could be achieved with the coordination of philanthropists and private sector.

The provincial government, he said, had already chalked out its priorities and would take best possible steps for the welfare of the masses. He said directives had been issued to ensure access of the people to the government corridors and departments.

In the meanwhile, talking to another delegation led by a former adviser for prisons, Dr Ayub Shaikh, the governor said that to eliminate anti-social elements was among the government priorities. He said it was his mission to make the soil of Shah Latif and Lal Shahbaz Qalandar a citadel of peace.

He also said: “Now I do not belong to any party. I am the representatives of millions of people living in the province, who want to see Sindh green and prosperous.”—APP
