LAHORE, Dec 5: A judicial magistrate on Wednesday sent three men accused in the ‘toxic’ cough syrup deaths to jail on judicial remand.
The Shahdara police investigation officer produced the accused before the court and sought further physical remand. He said they were awaiting a forensics report and the investigation was not complete yet. The magistrate rejected the plea and sent the accused on judicial remand.
The accused – Abdul Rauf, Fida Husain and Rizwan – were owners of the medical stores where the syrup was available. — Staff Reporter
