Drone strikes

Published December 5, 2012

THIS is in response to the article on drone strikes (Oct 27). The report refers to the widespread awareness of the folly. To me, it seems an echo of the oft-quoted lines by John Donne, ably picked by Ernest Hemingway as the title-piece of his famous novel:

‘No man is an island, entire of itself; everyman is — a part of the main, — any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.”
