LAHORE: Pakistan’s main opposition party in the National Assembly, the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz’s (PML-N), will create new provinces on administrative grounds if they come into power in the upcoming general elections, the party’s manifesto committee decide Saturday.

The meeting of the committee was held in Lahore today and presided by PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif.

The top leadership of the party was in attendance, as well as economic, legal, social and cultural experts who presented their suggestions.

Nawaz Sharif said that PML-N had ended the 60-year-old system of extortion in the name of revenue collection in its previous tenure in government.

Moreover, he said that the resources to provide education and health to citizens could only be obtained after the economy is put on a fast track to success.

The PML-N chief also added that all possible avenues of energy generation would be used fully and that it was imperative to provide a safe environment for investment.

Nawaz Sharif further added that the new PML-N manifesto would not be based on slogans but on practical realities.

He concluded the session by saying that after final consultations, the PML-N would present their final manifesto to public on Dec 30 at their Foundational Day.
