LAHORE, Nov 28: Another victim of ‘spurious cough syrup’ died at Mayo Hospital here on Wednesday.
Mayo Medical Superintendent Dr Zahid Pervez said Shahzad, 30, of Shahdara Town was brought to the emergency after he took cough syrup.
He died in the morning.
He said the emergency had received some 25 patients who consumed cough syrup since Nov 23. Of them, he said 12 patients were discharged after treatment.
Dr Pervez said nine patients had died so far during the treatment. —Staff Reporter
