LAHORE, Jan 8: Robbers on Wednesday made off with cash, gold jewellery, valuables and vehicles worth Rs5 million in different parts of the city.

Administrator Muhammad Azim told police that 12 gun-toting men burst into his milk factory in the Factory Area and held up all the staff.. He said the intruders collected cash and weapons worth Rs3.5 million and escaped. They also drove away with a double-cabin, he said.

Six armed men stormed into the house of Sohail Ahmad at Chohan Nagar in Islampura and made off with cash, gold ornaments and valuables worth Rs1 million. Sohail said the miscreants also gave a thrashing to his family members when they put up resistance.

Mrs Sarfraz was on her way home when two motorcyclists held her up at gunpoint near Shalamar Hospital in Mughalpura and deprived of cash and jewellery worth Rs20,000.

Two gunmen drove away with a motorcycle (MNZ-221) from Shahdara and six other motorcycles (LXW-3422, LOD-1408, LRB-7472, LXJ-7641, LRB-8021 and LXW-3189) were stolen from Misri Shah, Badami Bagh, Mochi Gate, Shadbagh, Qila Gujjar Singh and Mozang, respectively.

DEAD: A youngster, who was shot at and wounded while his three family members, were killed in an attack on his house at Al-Fateh Colony in Shadbagh late Tuesday night, died on Wednesday.

Usman, 22, had sustained injuries in the attack by his brother-in-law Ghulam Bari in which his father Ghulam Nabi, a brother, Azeem, and a sister, Fauzia, were killed.

MURDER: Muhammad Bashir, 40, was shot dead allegedly by his neighbour, Omar, over an old enmity in Kahna on Wednesday night.

The body was sent to the city mortuary for autopsy and a case was registered against the accused with no arrest.
