LAHOE, Nov 27: A team comprising city district government’s drug inspectors on Tuesday sealed eight pharmaceutical factories for producing spurious medicines in Shahdara, Sharqapur Road and near the Ravi Toll Plaza.

According to CDGL’s Chief Drug Inspector Abdul Wahab, the factories/units that were sealed are Medi Pharma (Kala Khatai Road), Medi Pharma (Main Bazaar, Kala Khatai Road), Health Grow and Rose Pharma (Dosaco Chowk, Sharaqpur Road), Qasim Harbal Lab (Malik Park, Shahdara), Midway Pharma (Near Ravi Toll Plaza), Muslim Yunani Lab (Dosaco Chowk) and A.S Homeo Lab (Near Shahdara police station).

The CDI said the team also confiscated the entire stock of the medicines lying at these factories.

“We have also taken samples of the medicines and sent the same to the Drug Testing Laboratory,” Wahab said, adding an action would be taken against the factory owners after receiving test reports from the laboratory. — Staff Reporter
