KARACHI, Jan 8: Three ships carrying general cargo, rock phosphate and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow owing to delayed arrivals and as result three ships were berthed: They are Manhattan Bridge, Ocean Bright, to unload and load containers and Isola Scarlatta to load molasses.

Sailing on the other hand was active as five ships, PONL Singapore, PONL Malandi, Mar Challenger, Banglar Mamata and Alcyonida departed, while Manhattan Bridge, Kota Teraju and Isola Scarlatta are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side totalling 91,256 tons comprising 17,307 tons of export cargo and 73,949 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Al-Mirqab, with containers, Power, with 26,300 tons of rock phosphate and Aegis, with general cargo.
