DADU, Jan 7: A peasant girl was criminally assaulted by five landlords in Khosa village near Dharma Wah of Mehar taluka on Tuesday as a result she had to be admitted to a hospital.

The five armed landlords barged into the house of a man, I.A.K. and locked his family in a room except for his 17-year-old daughter, whom they criminally assaulted.

They fled after assaulting her.

Later, the girl was admitted to a hospital in serious condition.

The Thrari Mohabbat town police registered an FIR under section 10/2 ZHO against five accused — Rustam, Abdul Latif, Shahnawaz, Gul Hassan, and Wali Mohammad Khoso.

While talking to this correspondent, the victim girl alleged that the investigation police were trying to protect the accused.

She threatened to commit suicide if the police did not provide her justice.

Her father alleged that since the investigation police had received a large amount of money as bribe from the landlords, they were not interested in arresting them.

TEACHERS: The teachers of high and middle schools boycotted their classes in Dadu town on Tuesday in protest against the attack on the GSTA general secretary, Abdul Hameed Memon, who was injured by Sher M. Jatoi, supervisor, education department, Dadu, the other day.

The teachers demanded that stern action be taken against Sher M. Jatoi.
