ATTOCK, Nov 18: The Attock district police’s official website has been dysfunctional for the last two years, apparently due to lack of attention of the district police headquarters, causing inconvenience to the public.
The website had been launched in 2007, in the tenure of district police officer (DPO) Capt (retired) Zafar Iqbal Awan, presently director Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) in Islamabad.
The purpose was to provide a direct access to the people and promote transparent governance but all in vain.
One feature of the website was that one could directly launch a complaint or get feedback through the website.
The move was highly appreciated by the public and local organisations had applauded the effort.
But the district police’s website has not been updated for the past two years.
A police official of the district police headquarters on condition of anonymity disclosed that the website is closed due to non-clearance of dues to the concerned web administrator that requires renewal fee to be paid annually.
