KHAR, Nov 18: The activists of People’s Students Federation (PSF) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) staged a protest against their party MNA from Bajaur Agency during a workers convention here on Sunday.

The workers of PSF and PPP chanted slogans against MNA Syed Akhunzada Chattan and criticised him for his poor performance as an elected representative of the area. The workers convention of PPP was held at the Jirga Hall, the property of local political administration of the tribal region. Several hundreds party workers including activists of PSF, People’s Youth Wing, People’s Doctors Association, People’s Teachers Association and local leaders of the party attend the convention.

However, workers captured the stage when Mr Chattan began to deliver a speech at the convention. They chanted slogans against the MNA and alleged that he did nothing for the welfare of the people of Bajaur Agency.

The angry workers said that residents of the backward tribal region were facing a lot of problems and difficulties but the parliamentarian had ignored the area.

Addressing on the occasion, Mr Chattan said that the PPP-led federal government was taking keen interest in the development of tribal areas. He said that huge amount was being spent to provide basic and modern facilities to the people of Bajaur Agency.
