RAWALPINDI, Nov 17: The Rawal Town Municipal Administration (RTMA) on Saturday retrieved one kanal of plot allocated for construction of a school at Khyaban-i-Sir Syed from encroachers.

The district education department had requested the RTMA to get the plot retrieved from encroachers who had constructed a house there.

Rawal Town Administrator Saif Anwar Jappa launched an operation in collaboration with the women police and demolished the house. “We served them (encroachers) a notice two months back but they failed to vacate the land,” Mr Jappa told Dawn.

He said the house, comprising two rooms, was demolished and the family living there directed to shift somewhere else.

When asked about the construction of the school building, Mr Jappa said the decision would be taken by the education department. —A Reporter
