DADU, Jan 6: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has said the issue of water shortage will soon be resolved.

He was talking to newsmen at the shrine of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz here on Monday.

He said the provincial government would remove differences between rural and urban areas and development works would be carried out throughout the province.

The Sindh governor said the government, with the support of all the political parties, would work for the development of the province.

He said justice would be provided to the people at their doorstep.

Dr Ibad said he was aware of problems being faced by fishermen of the Manchhar Lake and he had directed the district administration to resolve their problems.

He said he had also directed the district administration to remove encroachments near the shrine of Lal Shahbaz.

The governor also offered Fateha at the shrine.

DCO Allah Ditto Shar informed the governor that the second phase of construction work at the shrine would be started soon.

Later, the Sindh governor held meetings with officials of different departments in the Sehwan town.

The AIGP, Hyderabad region, Abdul Rauf Yousufzai, briefed the governor about the law and order situation in the area.

The DCO informed the governor about ongoing development schemes in the district.

ARRESTED: A team of the anti-corruption police raided the house of food inspector Ahmad Khan Abro in Thano Shahabad locality here on Monday and arrested him on charges of embezzling millions of rupees of the food department.

WOMAN KIDNAPPED: A woman was kidnapped by two armed men in Pir Colony here on Sunday night.

Talking to newsmen at the press club here on Monday, Karim Bux Mallah said Gulzar and Yousaf barged into his house on Sunday night and kidnapped his wife, Hameeda, after holding the inmates hostage at gunpoint.

TERMINATED: The divisional superintendent, postal services, has terminated the services of 16 clerks in the Hyderabad division.

The clerks terminated included Aurangzeb, Zulfiqar, Akhlaq, Qayoom, Sajida, Sobia Yasmeen, Arif Raza, Shahid Hussain, Asadullah Khan, Shahid Hussain, Shafiq Ahmad, Mohammad Shahid, Bandah Ali, Gul Mohammad and Shoaib Abu Talib.
