LAHORE, Nov 13: Pakistan earned more gold medals when baseball and fist-ball won their respective finals in the Punjab International Sports Festival on Tuesday.

In the baseball final, Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka - 12-2 - to lift the title.

Pakistan’s Sumair Zawar, Asif, Umair Bhatti scored two runs each while Zaheer, Zubair, Usman, Ahsan, Ahmad, Basit and Murtaza earned one run apiece. Sri Lankan Iresh Kosla and Chamara Piries shared the scoring honours.

Shaukat Javed, president of Pakistan Federation Baseball, was the chief guest on the occasion and gave away prizes to the winners and other participants.

The second gold of the day came from the Pakistan fist-ball team at the University of Lahore ground where the home team defeated Nepal 3-1. In the third position match, Punjab Greens defeated Sri Lanka 2-0. — Sports Reporter
