LAHORE, Nov 11: A young man was allegedly killed in jubilation firing in Chohan Colony, Bhaggatpura, in Shadbagh area on Sunday.

Police said Aftaab Ahmad (28) of Karachi was attending the Hina ceremony of his wife’s brother Nadir Khan when another guest, Awais, resorted to aerial firing to celebrate the occasion.

A bullet fired by Awais fatally injured Aftaab who was shifted to Mayo Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. The suspect fled the spot immediately.

Police dispatched the body for autopsy.

Police said the would-be bridegroom and his family also moved to an unknown place after locking their house. A case has been registered.
