LAHORE, Nov 8: The Punjab government has criticised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor for his statement with regard to terrorism in the province.

Barrister Masood Kausar alleged in Peshawar on Thursday that some centres in Punjab were backing terrorists and urged the provincial government to take action against  them.

“The statement of KPK governor regarding terrorism in Punjab is irresponsible and lamentable and does not behove to the office of governor,” provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah said in a statement here on Thursday.

He said like other provinces, Punjab was also facing terrorism, while from day one the Punjab government took steps for overcoming terrorism and spared no effort for its elimination.

He said the KPK governor should be aware of the fact that a heavy loss was caused to the public and private properties in Punjab due to terrorist attacks and innocent citizens also lost their lives.

Rana Sana said the provincial government and its people were facing terrorism like other provinces, therefore, only regrets could be expressed on the statement of the KPK governor. — Staff Reporter
