PESHAWAR, Nov 23: US war planes on Friday pounded Arab targets in eastern Afghan province of Khost, near Pakistan border.

According to reports the US planes hit bunkers in Khogai, Khost province, near Pakistan border area, Shahidan Dand in lower Kurram Agency.

An eyewitness informed this correspondent that US jets appeared before dawn and targeted bunkers in Khogai, where Arabs had established camps in early 1990. However, no causality has been reported from the area.

Khogai is the second major hideout of Arab nationals in Khost province after Zawara camp which came under attack in 1998.

The eyewitness said that the Arab nationals had vacated the site before the US attacks.
