DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jan 4: The Chief minister of NWFP assured Hafeezullah Khan Alizai, an MPA from DI Khan, in a meeting here on Saturday that the construction of the proposed Chashma Lift Irrigation Canal would begin soon.

Alizai met the CM to apprise him of the problems being faced by his constituency.

He informed the chief minister that with the construction of the Chashma Lift Irrigation Canal, green revolution would come to the southern districts of the province and it would become self-sufficient in wheat.

Alizai informed the CM that President Gen Pervez Musharraf had also promised that Chashma canal would be give to the people of area during he visited to the area.

The CM said that he would take the matter up with the federal government in the hope that the president would fulfil his promise.

Alizai also apprised the chief minister about the service grade move-over problem of doctors, teachers and lecturers.—PPI
