SUKKUR, Nov 3: One person was killed and five others were injured when a passenger wagon overturned while saving a man who was crossing the road near Rohri here on Friday night.

According to reports, the wagon was coming to Sukkur from Ghotki. When it reached near the locality of Khan Cotton Factory and Oil Mill Rohri, the driver saw an elderly man crossing the road and lost control in an attempt to save him. But the driver failed and hit and killed him on the spot.

ST demonstration

Workers of Sunni Tehrik held a demonstration here on Saturday in protest against the officials concerned for not carrying out development works in Microwave Colony and New Pind.

Leading the protest, Khan Baloch Qadri, Muhammad Ishaque, Muhammad Sahil, Nizamuddin Panhwar and Ali Gohar Chachar said the elected public representatives and people in the district administration had overlooked the thickly-populated areas of Microwave Colony, Ahmed Nagar, Kori Hotel and New Pind and people were facing many problems in the absence of many civic facilities.

They alleged that development works were carried out in the areas where rich people lived.
