Mailsi rape Accused arrested

VEHARI, Jan 4: The Mailsi police arrested on Friday night the alleged rapist of a married woman 14 days after the incident.

Police did not disclose the place from where they arrested landlord Siddiq Mitro.

The accused had on Dec 20 kidnapped Faiz Mai when she was going to her sister’s house. He tortured, drugged and raped her. Later, he shaved her head and eyebrows.

Mitro told police that he had developed relation with Faiz in 1996 and helped her financially. On Dec 20, one of her relatives (name not disclosed) told him that she had developed relations with another man.

He said he got enraged on this information, kidnapped, tortured and raped her.

LIQUOR RECOVERED: The Kehror Pucca police unearthed a distillery and recovered a huge quantity of liquor from the city area on Friday night.

Police raided the house of Amir on a tip off and found a running distillery along with 1,500 bottles of liquor. However, Amir and his wife Kulsoom fled from the scene.

According to the residents of the area, Amir had been running the distillery for the last five years. Police received monthly from the accused that was why they did not arrest him.

They claimed that about two months ago, police raided his house and recovered a huge quantity of liquor. But they returned it after receiving gratification.
