LAHORE, Nov 1: Robbers shot at and wounded a citizen and plundered cash and valuables worth Rs1.5 million during eight major hits in the city on Thursday.

A robber approached Rizwan of Saeed Park near Ravi bridge in Shahdara Town police limits and snatched Rs75,000 from him at a pistol point. He injured Rizwan with a gunshot wound on resistance.

The firing alerted the people who captured the accused and handed him over to the police. The injured was admitted to Mayo Hospital.

Two robbers intercepted Azhar Butt outside Alkhadim Pharmacy in North Cantonment police limits and deprived him of Rs40,000 in cash and a cell phone. The suspects also thrashed the victim before escaping.

Two robbers stopped Sarfraz Hussain and his family in Green Town police limits and relieved them of cash and valuables worth Rs700,000.

Two robbers waylaid Atif and his family in Begumpura in Gujjarpura police jurisdiction and robbed them of cash and valuables worth Rs250,000.

Some robbers stopped Jameel and his family in Karim Block in Gulshan-i-Iqbal police precincts and snatched cash and valuables worth Rs160,000 from them.Some robbers approached Adil and his fiancée in Z-Block in Defence and looted cash and valuables worth Rs155,000.

Two robbers intercepted Shahzad at Nursery Stop in Wahdat Colony police limits and deprived him of some cash and a motorcycle.

Two robbers stopped Irfan at Stop No 5 in Kahna police precincts and snatched Rs80,000 and a motorcycle from him.

CRUSHED: A 19-year-old girl was crushed to death by a truck after she fell from a motorcycle near Dogaij Colony in Yakki Gate on Thursday.

Police said Sidra fell on the road after her shawl entangled in the bike’s rear wheel and was crushed by a truck coming from behind.

Police have registered a case against truck driver Rafaqat.

Model Town police said 30-year-old Imran was killed after his car collided with a tree in E-Block on Thursday.
