PALLEKELE (Sri Lanka), Nov 1: The opening One-day International between Sri Lanka and New Zealand was called off without a ball being bowled due to rain here on Thursday.

The one-off Twenty20 International between the teams was also abandoned due to rain at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday when just 16 overs were bowled in the entire match.

The R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo will host the next two one-dayers of the five-match series on Sunday (Nov 4) and Tuesday (Nov 6) and the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota the last two on Nov 10 and 12.
