Throughout history, Muslims have been eager to convert non-Muslims despite Quran's emphasis that there is no compulsion in religion. It is a sad story of defying our holy book. The irony is that both the converts and the existing poor Muslims are never taken care of. The reason :the bigots have no reasonable economic and educational programs that could give skils to people to make a living. The madrasah education does not prepare the converts or other Muslims with any skills to earn a living. The bigots have caused a havoc for Muslims around the world leaving the impression that we are intolerant people. Forced conversions must stop for Islams sake.

Prophet (peace be upon him) entered Makkah and ordered his companions to enter the city in a humble way, the thing that he was doing himself: with lowered shoulders. NO non-muslim was killed in this so called siege. Please keep in mind that he was entering his ancestral city where many of his family and friends were martyred including his own daughter and he himself was forced to leave. Pre partition India, Indonesia, Malaysia, African countries are the few consensual conversions :)

Here people do embrace other religions on their own free will, be it briefly for experience or other motives. God created, man and woman with different qualities (e.g. physical strength for men and patience and endurance for women) to carry out different roles in the society. But when Men in society started abusing their strength it was obvious for women to rise against the injustice and claim their place in the society. Similarly the caste system being followed in India for thousands of years was in fact a much planned system so various people could follow specific roles in the society. But when Brahmins starting abusing this system by adding new things so they could be at an advantage, (approximately 3000 years ago) the caste system became a burden for the society. The system itself was not a problem but the society not being self-regulated; self- disciplined and immoral was a problem. Even best systems would fail if the society gets rotten. During these last couple of thousands of years when new religions came they offered relief to the oppressed people and it was natural for people who were oppressed to accept a religion which offered them a better future. Religion has also been marketed in history like any modern day product /service. If you find a good promotion from a new service you switch. There is no point in defaming any religion but if you really want to know the truth study history from many thousands of years and you will have but a glimpse of some truth! The real truth is hidden for people who strive to find it!

Just like a project is defined withiin a domain of time, with start and end, and post implementation is the next chapter, likewise, the original religion is also totally defined between the start & and its end, when the religions or the project is announced , and when he left the world, and post implementation is the product of the project that came out, without the bak flow addition from the post project period. This is what people tend to forget due to their needs, and impatience, in the post project period of the religion. The orignal content of the religon is like the orignal content of the project, with statt and end, requirements fullyd defined, scope fully defined & executable, per plan to reach the product or service it produces. When the service or product needs improvement, you need to launch a new project. islam was that last of all projects from Allah, which does not need improvement, which is fully capabale of dealing with all chalenges till the end of the world. The rest of the so-called 'Minority-Islamic-Sects', are nothing but 'break-away-splinter-groups' from the 'Originally-Mandated-Mainstream-Islam'. And, Mainstream Islam is not a 'philosophy' in any way, like all the other sects having their 'core-hinge' on some sort of a philosophy or another...all destined to crumble away into oblivion, although they will love to (strivingly) keep it intact for as long as they can with their 'rebellious-stiff-necked-stubbornness'; the likes of Bani-Israel of yore, out of 'sheer-emotionalism' and 'misdirected-loyalty', rather than accepting and proclaiming 'THE TRUTH'. This story is so flat and unflattering. I live in the states and I am friends with many converts to Islam from African Americans, whites and latinos. Conversion is extremely personal and a very long journey. I cannot even understand how a forced conversion is even a conversion. The reporter of such stories may be should do real homework and detailed investigation. I am not even sure, was she really forced to convert, the story make it sound like that. may be she wanted to convert. it is not a good journalism.

caring about humanity is a very islamic concept. Problems happen when people deviate from their original creed. It is not the religion, it is the deviation fromt the original content, creed, that bring any different attitudes, which ultimately give bad name to religions, in gneral. People have found new ways, new creed, new contnet, new justiffications of beliefs after the the messanger left the world, and it has happened in every religion, and this is the root cause of all problems in general. It is not the religion in general that is the bone of contention, it is the people who twisted & turned the religion after the messengaer left. The post messenger change divided adherents, and caused most of the trouble. Islam and Abrahamic religons came from the same source, one an donly one God, and there is evidence, per Dr. Zakir Naik, hinduism and bhudism came from the same source, one & ;only one God. Allah sent prophets through out the world, according to Islamic belief, an Allah knows better. So, one should go back to the orignal, and they will find being led to Islam.

Conversions are hardly consensual. Let me ask how many times have you accepted that you have told a lie or done anything wrong inspite of knowing that you were wrong. It is hard to deny your belief and/ faith. As for religion, those who convert, never had any faith before. For the rest, it is a forced one either through intimidation or favors. Can you imagine changing your whole mind and thought process? As for Hinduism, it is not a religion...it is more a way of life. No founder called the group of people living in Indian subcontinent Hindus. these are the group of people living around Indus river. Even Aryans who came from middle east/europe never called themselves Hindus. they had certain beliefs about forces of nature and it combined with dravidians already living there. And there comes certain rules about how to lead life. In fact a great guru of Hindu, Adi Shankarachrya comes from south. Because there were no founder of the religion, it primarily reflected the lives of people- giving rise to various sections or castes of society. As the times changed, new gurus came with interpretation of the faith according to the time. This guru tradition ( in Christianity, it is saints) has helped the religion evolve over time with compassion and tolerance for others. Very few people know that you can be a Christian and still be a Hindu. Because in Hindu belief, Jesus is a form of God. It never states that only Ram is a god or Shiva is a God. In Bhagwat Gita, God takes various forms from Krishna to Kaal. It all depends on what the individual believe- in fact atheists can be called Hindus as they believe in themselves- their soul which is part of Parmatma. If you have time, please read a book called - A history of God written by Karen Armstrong a British nun.

Really? Do you think the caste system does not exist? Are the Achoots and other scheduled castes accorded the same status as Brahmins? Was the practice of Sati, whereby a widow was burned alive with her dead husband, practiced by Muslims? However, what strikes me extremely funny is that Indian Hindus consider their own religion to be the end all of all religions, admit that they haven't read Islamic literature thereby admitting their ignorance but not letting their ignorance stop them from belittling other religions. Conversion means changing one belief to new one. Forced or unforced different question. Muslims in Pakistan are not Muslims because as per Holy Quran man should bow to ALLAH only. Since you can convert Hindu to Muslim and from anything to anything but you cannot kill culture . Islam was forced on India(India and Pakistan) and Afganistan. Who are they kidding when they say there are no forced conversions. Ever since islam came into existence there have been forced conversions.

Islam is a good religion but the followers of Islam has got wrong interpretation of it. It is rightly said that "No religion is good or bad but followers make it so". Lead by doing some thing good for the man kind to prove yourself a human, before it is too late. these conversions happen when hindu girls fall in love with muslim boys so they elope.on the other hand Islam does not allow marriage between an idolater and a muslim so thats why the conversions.. if these hindus are so ired why dont they lock up their daughters or bring them up with their strong hindu values.

Islam has more alot of pro women rights but unfortunately we are to uneducated about islam. Pakistan should be more ISLAMIC and not the islam of the uneducated(about islam) elite. SUnnah is the way to go. PS: ofcourse forced conversion isnt allowed in islam neither is insult other relegions.

why would in right mind convert? What is so good about converted religion that birth religion can't offer? God is God. Religion is either you are born with or one is forced into. Let us not fool one another. Let us quit that crap.
