SHIKARPUR, Oct 25: A police head constable was shot dead while a constable and a civilian were wounded when a gunman opened fire on them in a restaurant near the SP office here on Thursday morning.

The gunman riding a motorcycle opened fire on Head Constable Peeran Jorio aka Papu Rahoojo of Rarhi village, Constable Peer Bux Odhano and Nazeer Ahmed Mirani and sped away.

Head Constable Peeran Jorio died on the spot while the wounded were taken to the Shikarpur Civil Hospital from where Peer Bux Odhano was referred to the Larkana Civil Hospital in a serious condition.

The body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives after a post-mortem examination in the Shikarpur Civil Hospital.

The victim was buried in his village graveyard.

No FIR of the incident was registered till the filing of this report.—BoC
