LAHORE, Oct 25: Governor Sardar Latif Khosa ordered on Thursday action against police officers for not registering a murder case.

Ghazala Tufail had filed an application with the governor requesting him to intervene as the Sheikhupura police were not cooperating with her regarding a fraud on her land rather facilitating fraudsters.

Later, she was murdered on Sept 23 and her two sons met the governor and informed him that the police were not registering an FIR.

The governor issued a show-cause notice to the IG, regional and district police officers of Sheikhupura in this regard. The police officer concerned, however, informed the governor that the SHO concerned had been suspended from service and an FIR also registered.

The governor issued a strict direction to the RPO to appoint an honest officer to probe the case.
