Published January 4, 2003

PESHAWAR, Jan 3: A young woman, Nasima, was killed allegedly by her husband, Safoor and in-laws and her body thrown in a well.

Nasima had been a victim of domestic violence since her marriage 10 months back, claimed her mother, a resident of Bazidkhel, Badhber area.

She told the police that since Nasima’s marriage she had been subjected to torture by her in-laws, particularly her husband. “On Wednesday, Nasima’s in-laws informed me that she had died after falling in a well,” she said. “We brought her body and buried her. But someone from her in-laws’ village said Nasima had been killed by her in-laws,” she told the police.—Bureau
