Shahrukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in a scene from the film "Jab tak hai Jaan"
Jab tak hai Jaan, Yash Chopra's last film, might not see a release in Pakistan. "The film may get banned in Pakistan because it involves Shahrukh Khan in an army operation in Kashmir.
According to TOI, the trailer too has been stopped from being screened on various TV channels in Pakistan. The movie shows Khan as part of a bomb disposal squad in the Indian Army who is up to some serious action in Kashmir, which may be the reason it might be banned," said a source. However, the film is yet to be presented to the Pak censor board.
Recently, Agent Vinod and Ek Tha Tiger were not cleared for screening in the country.

why indians neva make a film showing a hindu girl in love with a muslim boy or an indian girl in love with pakistani boy? dont they have moral courage to make such movies as well ? why always a hindu guy and muslim girl or indian guy and pakistani girl? the fact is that all indian society is hostage of conservative typical thoughts though they have put low make up on the face. where are the liberalism then? they are no better than Taliban in their thoughts.

If we're talking about minorities, yea they do suffer a terrible fate in Pakistan. I'm shia and I'm horrified when I hear all these hate crimes going on. It can't be stopped. By Indian minorities suffer the same fate. Muslims are called Pakistanis, just to be degraded. The quality of life they have is very sub-standard compared to Pakistani Muslims and they basically have no voice.
Oh and another point you brought up, minorities from Pakistan will NEVER flee to India because they know they will be treated worse there.

Well, I think to point finger to others doesn't show the maturity and civilization. But I would like to say one thing, movie is the source for entertainment not to hurt people regardless of belonging to pak or india. One should keep this fact in mind by producing movies. By producing Border kind of movies, what the producer want to leave message? And senior actors should also think abt that before acting this kind of movies.

so your ownership to indian actor is only till his nationality where as he is actor more popular in pakistan.
Not because he is muslim but because he is having tremendous performance . Amita Bachan is similarly very popular in pakistan he is non muslim non pakistani but a tremendous person and i love his work. So i take your remarks offensive when you say they are your actor only. You are wrong then dont sell your movies outside India or dont give screening rights to any other country

I think it's quite pointless arguing over the censorship of a particular movie. As someone down below rightly pointed out, if anyone really wants to watch the movie, he/she can torrent it or stream it online. It is a fact that many Pakistanis actually enjoy movies from across the border. The reason behind this is that our own film industry has never had much success. Instead of criticizing Bollywood, we should be focusing on changing our film industry for the better. If this movie is censored, it will do no favors to our film industry because no one will go and watch Lollywood productions in any case. I think Khuda Kay Liye and Jinnah were the only movies that enjoyed success to a certain level in Pakistan. We need a revival!

As usual i will be watching this movie through torrent , hence this ban will not affect. Indian film industry is quite big. They convey their message through their films a lot. we should have a strong industry like them to answere them in an affective way. Banning the film only in cinema may not be the best way to stop their propoganda.

At a any time I have the option of watching 100 regional (and local cable) channels, 50-100 national channel and over 200 international channels .
I dont have time for conspiracy theories.
Most news and programs from Pakistan give news that is exactly opposite from what the whole world (including Afghanistan, middle east countries and Bangladesh) believes to be the truth.
Who cares for the odd man out programs and news.
But at times I do watch them when I wish to watch a comdey show

I read the title of the news and instead of reading the article I scrolled down to comments section. Why? Because its always fun to see educated Bharteez and Pakistaniz spatting each others faces for no apparent reason.
BTW most of Hindi movies are inspired or copied from Hollywood movies which on the other hand are also inspired or copied from Asian movies (Chinese, Japanese, Korean...) and European movies.
Why don't Hindi Filmmakers directly copy the films from Asian and European cinema? It would certainly make them competitor of their Hollywood counterpart.
Kudos to Holly and Bolly lol!

I watch both Indian Dramas and Pakistani Dramas on Geo and Hum TV. Story, dialogues and standard of acting is far superior in Pakistani Dramas. Ten Precent of Indian Films are very good but for such films story is often copied from Hollywood Movies.

Seems you are quite misinformed friend. Do your research before spewing thinly veiled disdain.
Never understand why grown ups turn these comments into a nasty, childish and petty war. No wonder the ties between countries are pitiful. Children running around wearing grown up clothing in both countries. Time to grow up, no?

Hindi film industry does not make money because of pirated Hindi DVD movies and CDs are freely sold throughout Pakistan . Its simple economics guys . These movies are made keeping in mind the Indian audience . So , anything against Pakistan shown in these movies , is a big seller in India . Pakistanis are not even considered as paying audience thus very insignificant . Why do you think Hindi film industry should write scripts which are pro Pakistan ? As a matter of fact industry should try to prevent piracy and put anti-Pakistan contents to discourage them to watch even for free .

Dear Brothers, try to understand few facts, these are just publicity stunts. Such news are spread in order to create curiosity in masses. People reading this news get excited and try to watch the movies, which only fills the pockets of the cinema houses and the movie produces who sell their movie rights.

Mr Khan,
As usual there are the 'Patriotic Pakis' who have reacted negatively because you are honest
in calling a spade a spade.
The country is corrupt, starting from its police to its politicians, its sportmen to its judiciary.
and its clergy to its educational institutions,.but, when one lives in moral filth, one becomes
immune to this cancer. Pakistan, in all its existance, has contributed nothing good to the world, except maybe pain and hopelessness. I have lived in a few other countries, and none can be compared to the poor standards that Pakistanis are forced to live by and are still in a state of fantasy and self-deceit??. .
