Transfers affect teachers

Published October 10, 2001

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Oct 9: Frequent transfers and adjustments in the Education Department are under way in breach of the NWFP district government rules of business, 2001, and guidelines on posting/transfer policy, sources said.

Transfer orders issued by the executive district officer, literacy, sports and education (EDO), during the last few days have not only affected and disturbed the teachers, but also violated the rules and guidelines.

Under the new policy, transfers are allowed only against the existing vacancies, observing the performance, academic record, service in hard area and tenure outside the home station. But the teachers serving at their home stations were adjusted at the old stations, while those at out-stations ignored sources alleged.
