KARACHI: Three people were killed in incidents of violence and firing in Karachi, whereas Rangers and police arrested six people during different targeted operations, DawnNews reported.

One person was killed and another injured when unknown gunmen opened fire in Karachi’s Surjani Town area. The injured person and the body were shifted to the Civil Hospital where angry protesters caused a commotion. Additional police was deployed at the hospital.

In a separate incident in Kharadar, firing by unknown gunmen critically injured a man. He was shifted to the Civil Hospital where he died during treatment.

A body was recovered in a gunny bag from Karachi’s Nazimabad No 2 area.

Rangers arrested three people during operations conducted in Yousuf Goth and Nazimabad areas of the city and claimed to have recovered weapons from them.

In another operation, police arrested two suspected dacoits in Saeedabad area and recovered weapons and stolen mobile phones from them.

Police also arrested an alleged extortionist in a separate operation in Ayub Goth area of Karachi.
