ISLAMABAD, Jan 2: After one and half years of litigation and red-tape, the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced the final result of a candidate for CSS examination, 2000.

In compliance with the judgment of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the commission declared Mohammad Asad Ali Ch successful on December 30. Mr Asad has got 92nd position.

Mr Asad Ch appeared in the CSS examination, 2000, which was his third consecutive attempt. But the commission withheld his final result, accusing him of pre-mature retirement from army.

Mr Asad moved the Lahore High Court against the decision, which directed the commission to review its findings, but the commission didn’t respond to its order.

Thereafter, he twice moved the LHC for contempt of court, which finally decided the case in his favour. The commission challenged the decision of the Lahore High Court in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, but the apex court upheld the decision.

In its judgment, the apex court observed that the LHC had rightly observed that the conduct of the commission was not above board, fair and just. The court also maintained that as per record, the exercise undertaken by the commission after Mr Asad passed the examination was mala fide and motivated.
